Primitive Survival Skills #2
Take ancestral self-reliance to the next level. Master advanced debris hut shelter builds, no-knife bow drill friction fire, wild game smoking and preservation, coal-burned wooden containers, and advanced trapping mechanics.
Course Overview
Primitive Survival Skills #2 picks up right where Primitive 1 leaves off, pushing your ability to thrive with minimal tooling. Over two intensive days in the Minnesota woods, you will refine advanced primitive engineering—building fully insulated debris huts capable of keeping you warm without a fire, crafting friction fire sets without steel blades, and mastering long-term food preservation techniques.
Core Advanced Skills Taught
- Advanced Debris Hut Construction: Building micro-climate shelters with 3+ feet of leaf/debris insulation, dead-air spaces, and storm-proof ridge pole geometry.
- No-Knife Bow Drill Friction Fire: Shaping spindles, hearthboards, and sockets using only natural stones and fire-hardened wood.
- Wild Game Smoking & Preservation: Constructing green-wood smoking racks, fire management for cold/hot smoking, and primitive meat drying.
- Coal-Burned Hardwood Utensils: Advanced coal-carving for deep bowls, spoons, and water-holding vessels using live coals and flint scrapers.
- Advanced Trapping & Deadfalls: Precision deadfall triggers (Paiute, Figure-4), spring-pole snares, and game funneling mechanics.
- Foraging & Natural Processing: Identifying late-season wild edibles, processing acorns/roots, and making natural glues and pitch binders.
