Campfire Creations & Primitive Woodcraft
Harness live fire and simple edge tools to transform raw timber into functional camp utensils, wooden spoons, burned-out containers, and custom field gear.
Workshop Overview
Campfire Creations is a dedicated hands-on woodcraft intensive. Under one-on-one instructor guidance, you will harvest green timber directly from the land and utilize ancestral coal-burning and hand-carving techniques to create durable, heirloom-quality camp tools and cooking gear that you will use around the fire for years to come.
Core Hands-On Projects
- Coal-Burned Containers & Bowls: Managing hardwood coals, blow-tubes, and ember placement to hollow out functional wooden bowls, cups, and water vessels without splitting the log.
- Green Wood Spoon & Utensil Carving: Grain selection, blank split techniques, push/pull cuts, and hook-knife work to carve eating spoons, cooking ladles, and spatulas.
- Primitive Tool Fabrication: Carving tent stakes, ridge pole toggles, wood mallets, pot hangers, and pack frame components using raw forest materials.
- Natural Wood Finishes & Seals: Blending food-safe beeswax, natural oils, and animal fats to seal and preserve your handmade wooden gear against moisture.
